About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team at Aspirations Care Ltd. As a PBS Practitioner, you will be responsible for supporting individuals with learning disabilities, mental health issues, and Autism to achieve their full potential.

Main Responsibilities

  • Undertake referral assessments to support operational colleagues.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external professionals to promote the rights of individuals we support.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate Positive Behaviour Support plans.
  • Review the efficacy of PBS plans using positive monitoring.
  • Assist with transitions programmes for individuals moving into new homes.
  • Generate Positive Behaviour Support Plans for service users and ensure ongoing review.
  • Promote the Restraint Reduction Training Standards by reducing restrictive practices.
  • Cultivate a shared understanding of behaviour and develop strategies for alternative communication.
  • Collect, analyse, and review outcome data relating to distress communication events.
  • Deliver CPD sessions to teams as required.
  • Work alongside business support departments for the benefit of service users.
  • Promote a reflective organisational culture that learns from experience.
  • Support co-production by involving individuals in their care and support.
  • Have excellent organisational skills to manage a caseload and plan intervention effectively.
  • Practice leadership by leading by example and supporting staff implementation of strategies.

Requirements

  • Experience of providing support using the PBS framework.
  • Full driving licence and access to own vehicle (car allowance included).
  • Prepared to regularly travel for service visits and meetings.
  • Person-centred beliefs, values, and attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a leadership capacity.
  • In-depth understanding of PBS principles and Applied Behaviour Analysis.
  • History of conducting behavioural assessments and developing interventions.
  • History of direct support experience with individuals with learning disabilities and/or Autism.
  • History of reducing restrictive practices.
  • History of delivering PBS training.
  • Excellent record-keeping and written skills, including report writing.
  • Detailed understanding of legal frameworks and policy relevant to the role.
