Electrical Systems Engineer

Rapiscan Systems is seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer to join our Cargo and Vehicle Inspection team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining electrical systems for our x-ray scanning equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret customer requirements and specifications to design and develop electrical systems.
  • Produce technical documentation to support designs, including electrical schematics and 3D panel layouts.
  • Create PLC code using Studio5000 and CoDeSys in line with system architecture.
  • Design HMI screens to match system requirements.
  • Issue designs into the PLM system via the ECO process.
  • Provide technical support through production and commissioning.
  • Work within company quality and safety procedures.
  • Provide service support and action ECRs allocated.
  • Visit sites as required.
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of electrical control systems, including PLC controllers.
  • Flexibility to respond to changing business needs.
  • Willingness to travel with good presentation skills.
  • Great time management skills.
  • Able to work as part of a team and individually.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, OneNote, Outlook, Presentation, Teams & Word).
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience in using CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, Eplan, or Solidworks Electrical.
  • Experience in PLC Programming platforms such as Studio5000 or CoDeSys.
  • Experience programming VFD/Servo Drives within Rockwell environments.
  • Experience in a relevant field of work.
  • HNC in Electrical Engineering or other relevant field of study.
