We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Special Education Teaching Assistant to join our team at Starfyn Recruitment. As a Special Education Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with severe and complex learning difficulties aged between 11-16 years old.

Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on students' lives and contribute to their learning and development. As a Special Education Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide emotional support, escort students to classes, and maintain accurate records of their progress.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide emotional support to students with severe and complex learning difficulties
  • Escort students to classes and ensure they are in a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Maintain accurate records of students' progress and achievements
  • Document daily observations and maintain daily administration
  • Support students with academic, sporting, and outdoor activities
  • Engage with parents/guardians to build healthy relationships
  • Lead ELSA support and communicate with students to support them with tasks
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in a SEN Teaching Assistant environment
  • Patient and consistent attitude to provide the best level of support and care
  • High level of emotional and physical strength to deal with changing environments
  • Good sense of humour to keep students happy and motivated
  • Strong knowledge of Compliance and Safeguarding procedures
  • Relevant qualifications and/or training in Special Educational and related fields
