Maintenance Technician

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at Engineering Direct Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out maintenance operations and tasks to ensure the efficient running of our factory in Northampton.
The role involves working as part of the Engineering function, primarily within the Packing & Process areas, but also in other areas of the factory as required.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Overhaul and repair of plant during production and out of production.
- Carry out all work in a safe, hygienic, and professional manner.
- Carry out any tasks within the team using your skills to the appropriate level.
- Continually monitor areas of the factory, liaising with manufacturing staff to meet changes as required.
- To be actively involved in plant improvement groups through Area Managers & the Engineering Lead.
- Effective planned maintenance inspections using the CMMS.
- To offer support and guidance to engineers and operators.
- To assist with parts of the ongoing project work.
- Responsible to ensure the safety of themselves and others within the team.
- To make others aware of any health and safety issues.
- Responsible for the up keep and maintenance on all factory and plant based equipment.
- To liaise with internal and external contractors and visitors.
The ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of both Electrical and Mechanical Engineering problems, be able to faultfind and read engineering drawings, and work equally well on their own and as part of a team.
A recognised engineering qualification or apprentice served is essential for this role.
The working hours for this position will be on an alternating shift pattern between days and nights, 6.00 – 18.00 and 18.00 – 6.00 or permanent days 8:00am – 4:00pm.
