Job Summary:

As an Electrical Maintenance Specialist at Biffa Waste Services Limited, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and safety of our electrical systems. This role involves primarily electrical maintenance inspections and routine repairs within all areas of the site. You will work as part of a small team, requiring flexibility and a willingness to perform tasks outside of the role description.

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose running faults and ensure effective repairs and improvements are conducted within minimum time scales.

Carry out planned and reactive maintenance practices, including plant upgrades and modifications to required standards.

Report all work carried out through our computerised maintenance management system.

Develop and implement the programme of planned preventative maintenance and inspection to minimise downtime, provide records of recurrent faulting, and engineered solutions to these issues.

Anticipate machine failures and make changes or recommendations to prevent reoccurrence, reducing downtime to a minimum.

Ensure SHEQ standards are strictly maintained, and all related documentation is completed.

Drive a culture/mind-set with the management team that builds employee motivation and commitment, and develop a contract team capable of overreaching contract targets.

Assist the maintenance department in identifying annual lifecycle requirements, preparation of capital applications, and business case papers for non-lifecycle capital purchases.

Requirements:

Fit & active, with the ability to work in enclosed/restricted spaces and on overhead cranes (Working at Height).

Recognised Apprenticeship, Electrical bias Multi Skilled Engineer with relevant qualifications ONC/BTEC NVQ 3 discipline level (Elec Bias).

BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulation Qualifications.

Experience working on single and 3-phase AC and DC systems.

Waste Processing equipment knowledge preferable.

IT literate, comfortable using business software and systems.

Full UK car driving licence and live within a 20-mile radius of site.

Experience of FMCG type environment.
