Job Title: Electrical Systems Engineering Manager

BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineering Manager to lead our Electrical Power Systems Definition team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a team of engineers to deliver the functional design and definition of Electrical Power Systems equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers to deliver the functional design and definition of Electrical Power Systems equipment
  • Manage the processes and reviews of technical documentation
  • Manage associated technical risks, assumptions, and dependencies
  • Provide advice on electrical power technical aspects across a broad range of engineering disciplines
  • Engage with customers and suppliers to provide solutions to complex problems
  • Take a leading role in guiding the team through the systems definition process
  • Provide leadership and mentoring of more junior team members to ensure the necessary capability and skills development

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified Electrical Engineering or equivalent Engineering background
  • Engineering Chartership required (or equivalent experience demonstrated)
  • Significant knowledge of AC and DC electrical power systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Team leadership experience

About the Role:

Working on the UK's next-generation SSN design that incorporates technology from the UK, Australia, and the United States, you will be part of the Electrical Power team responsible for leading a team of engineers in defining the system elements required to feed into the submarine design and build process, including design documentation, spatial modeling, and build outputs.

This role will provide you with an opportunity to travel to various locations throughout the UK, including various BAE, customer, and supplier sites. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
