About the Role

We are seeking a highly committed and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at Haxby Road Primary Academy. The successful candidate will work closely with our children, families, and staff to provide support and guidance to children with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to children with SEN, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of lessons, ensuring that children with SEN are fully included and engaged.
  • Use positive behavior management techniques to promote a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with children, families, and staff to ensure that the needs of children with SEN are met.
Requirements
  • Experience of working with children with SEN, ideally in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of behavior management strategies and techniques.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and staff.
  • Flexibility and ability to work independently.
  • Relevant qualifications and training, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
