Project and Technical Engineer Job Description

GMP Recruitment is proud to partner with a leading organisation in the process plant and equipment industry. We are seeking an experienced Project and Technical Engineer to join their Kidderminster site.

Job Summary

This is a full-time, permanent position offering a salary up to £50,000 plus excellent company benefits and great career progression opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Operations department in ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and managing projects in a cost-effective and safe manner.
  • Manage and control orders from customers, including design, manufacture, installation, and commissioning.
  • Administer site project work areas, ensuring they are kept efficient and controlled.
  • Act on verbal or written instructions from the Operations department regarding order processing and labour allocation.
  • Conduct site visits, collect information, and specifications to ensure project details are prepared and available for satisfactory manufacture and installation.
  • Produce Method Statements and risk assessments related to project repair and installation.
  • Carry out design activities using CAD software and produce information for manufacturing purposes.
  • Implement contract management policies and procedures to achieve and better the Gross Margin Profit (50%) of contracts.
  • Adhere to and implement all Quality procedures involved in process and on-site manufacture.
Requirements
  • Proven project and technical experience in material handling, industrial construction, or similar site engineering.
  • Project and Technical Engineer or equivalent experience from an engineering fabrication company in the West Midlands, ideally with experience of fitting/servicing equipment.
  • Mechanical understanding and solid manufacturing industry knowledge to communicate effectively with staff and the target customer base.
