About the Role

HITACHI ENERGY UK LIMITED is seeking a highly skilled Senior Grid Automation Engineer to join our Grid Automation Team. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the advancement of power grid technology and make a difference in the world of power grids.

This exciting opportunity will be based in the UK, where you'll be part of a dynamic and supportive engineering team dedicated to providing innovative solutions to our customers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and experience in grid automation systems. You will be responsible for offering technical advice to customers, commissioning and installing our products and equipment, and addressing complex issues that may emerge during implementation or operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Offer technical advice to customers on the effective and efficient use of our products and equipment.
  • Commission, install, and test our products and equipment to ensure they adhere to the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Address and resolve complex issues that may emerge during the implementation or operation of our products and equipment.
  • Investigate and suggest new product equipment upgrades to boost customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Build and sustain strong customer relationships by understanding their needs and expectations, thereby securing future business opportunities.
  • Work in conjunction with the Power Grids Grid Automation Engineering Department to support the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of SCADA systems, communication networks, and protection systems.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to talk to all levels within the business.
  • Eager to learn and self-develop through self-teaching and inquisitive engagement.
  • Occasional nationwide travel across the UK and possibility of offshore training.
