Job Description

Head of Legal Practice (HoLP)

Jameson Legal is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Legal Practice to lead the development and growth of our Solicitors firm. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the firm's compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining the highest standards of client care.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in compliance and risk management, with a proven track record of ensuring regulatory compliance in a legal practice. You will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with firms' regulatory requirements, including SRA authorisation, client complaints, KYC and money laundering procedures, and firm-wide risk assessments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure overall compliance with the terms and conditions of the firm's CLC authorisation.
  • Update internal compliance policies and procedures as necessary, incorporating changes into the firm's Compliance Plan.
  • Keep abreast of regulatory and compliance changes, training staff on compliance and client-facing quality of service.
  • Report directly to the firm's Head of Conveyancing and Directors on matters of compliance and internal policy creation.
  • Oversee and sign off all lead generation and service advertisements to ensure CLC marketing requirements are met.

Requirements

  • Must be a qualified solicitor, chartered legal executive, or licensed conveyancer with at least 6 years PQE.
  • Hybrid working out of either our Norwich or Derby offices.
  • Must have had at least two years in a compliance role working in a legal practice dealing with client complaints, KYC and money laundering procedures, and firm-wide risk assessments.
