Part-time Locum Consultant in Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon to join our team at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre and the Children's Hospital, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Main Duties

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a high-quality secondary and tertiary paediatric orthopaedic service to children and adolescents in Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Thames Valley, and neighbouring counties.
  • Support the multidisciplinary team and participate in multidisciplinary meetings.
  • Develop clinical collaboration with other paediatric services in Oxford and Buckinghamshire, especially where this may impact on paediatric orthopaedic provision.
  • Develop paediatric training in orthopaedics with support from local and grid trainees and provide orthopaedic teaching for other postgraduate trainees.
  • Comply with the recommendations of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, National GIRFT review of Paediatric Orthopaedics, and the Royal College of Surgeons over the provision of acute and specialty services for children.
Working for Our Organisation

The NOTSSCaN Division is responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of services within their areas in line with Trust strategies, policies, and procedures.

The Division is led by Clinical Directors and supported by Operational Service Managers, Matrons, and other relevant experts.

The Division hosts services on three hospital sites: The John Radcliffe Hospital, The Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, and the Horton General Hospital, Banbury.

The NOTSSCaN Division aims to be a leader across the United Kingdom as a provider of a range of standard and specialised services.
