About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and committed Registered Nurse to join our friendly and forward-thinking team at Acorn Surgery. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to our patients, working independently and collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver evidence-based care.
Main Responsibilities
- Maintain a high professional standard of nursing care, adhering to all Practice protocols and policies, and providing nursing assistance to GPs and other team members.
- Perform routine nursing tasks related to patient care, including immunisations, cervical screening, wound management, and chronic disease management.
- Contribute to the implementation of the National Service Framework and maintain the Practice CHD register.
- Advise patients on lifestyle management and drug compliance for reducing the risk factors of hypertension, angina, myocardial infarction, and cerebrovascular accident.
- Support patients and colleagues in adopting sound infection control measures, applying universal hygiene precautions, and reporting and treating sharps injuries.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (Nursing and Midwifery Council) qualification.
- Experience of chronic disease management, working autonomously, and infection prevention and control measures.
- Excellent communication skills, effective time management, and ability to work as a team member and autonomously.
- Ability to record accurate clinical notes, follow clinical policy and procedure, and maintain confidentiality at all times.
