Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to work with our partner schools in the Fareham area.

About the Role:

This is a rewarding role that offers the chance to make a significant difference in the educational journey of pupils who require extra support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide targeted support to pupils, helping them engage with their learning and achieve their personal goals.
  • Assist in implementing personalised learning and support plans under the guidance of the class teacher and SENDCo.
  • Support the class teacher with daily tasks, including preparing resources, managing behaviour, and fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Help students develop confidence and self-reliance by offering appropriate support and challenges.
  • Implement strategies to support positive behaviour and calmly manage any challenging situations that may arise.
  • Accurately document pupil progress and behaviour, providing regular updates to the class teacher and relevant staff.
  • Work with external professionals to support the development of pupils.
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience working with children or young people in an educational setting is essential.
  • A caring and understanding approach, with the ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to adapt to the changing needs of the pupils and the school environment.
  • A collaborative and proactive attitude, supporting colleagues and contributing to the wider school community.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
