Job Title: Primary SEN Teaching Assistant

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting young learners with additional needs in various SEN school settings based in Leicester.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized support to SEN students on a 1:1 basis, assisting them in comprehending lessons and engaging in the classroom.
  • Monitor progress and report to the class teacher, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Work with a team of dedicated professionals to provide tailored support for young people with complex behaviors linked to Autism, Mental Health Needs, and Learning Difficulties.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with SEN learners is essential.
  • A clean and relevant DBS is required (can be obtained through GSL Education if needed).
  • Knowledge of behavioral management techniques is necessary.
  • A committed and enthusiastic attitude to work is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to form new relationships are crucial.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in primary schools is preferred.
  • Safeguarding certificate is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of different forms of SEN is beneficial.
  • A degree in Psychology is highly valued.
