SHE Officer Opportunity

We are supporting a local manufacturing facility with the recruitment of a SHE Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the company is conducting its business in full compliance with national and international law and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate and improve the SHE management system in compliance with environmental legislation, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, and other compliance requirements.
  2. Monitor SHE/Compliance & Risk strategies, policies, and programmes that promote sustainable development.
  3. Liaise with regulatory bodies, internal/external business customers, ensuring all key performance measures and objectives are achieved in regard to SHE/Compliance and Risk.
  4. Lead and support all aspects of the business in its adoption and conformance to all SHE legislation and policies/statements and procedures.
  5. Coordinate SHE systems for control of pollution, waste management, recycling, conservation, and energy efficiency.
  6. Monitor the effectiveness of SHE/Compliance Operational risks, recommending changes where appropriate, and ensure that practices which are potentially hazardous are brought to the attention of management.
  7. Advise Management on all legal and other requirements relating to SHE/Compliance legislation in the workplace.
  8. Monitor the investigation of accidents and review accidents and statistics pertaining to such with the management so that corrective action may be applied and assessed for health, safety, and the environment.
  9. Requirements:
    1. Someone who enjoys taking responsibility and is keen to take on additional training to enhance their SHE experience.
    2. Advanced computer skills.
    3. Basic work experience gained within SHE or someone that has an interest in SHE.
    4. May suit a recent graduate with a business-related degree.
