Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Thermal Control Systems Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing the thermal control system of our spacecraft and air-breathing propulsion system.
Key Responsibilities- Perform steady-state and transient thermal analysis of spacecraft thermal systems and track system performance during ground operations, TVAC testing, launch, and Earth orbit.
- Advise hardware development teams on design decisions, ensuring an excellent understanding of materials, thermal properties, and main approaches for thermal dissipation.
- Provide thermal engineering leadership and support for developing thermal vacuum (TVAC) test procedures, scripts, and installation designs.
- Drive the development of thermal systems, including system architecture definition, thermal system modeling, component sizing, and design.
- Develop and maintain thermal models using FEM analysis tools (e.g., Ansys) and programming languages.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration of thermal systems into our spacecraft and propulsion system.
- Participate in the daily operation, growth, and R&D planning of the company, contributing to the development of our revolutionary air-breathing ion propulsion system.
- Understanding of the fundamentals (theory and practice) of thermal control design for satellites.
- Extensive experience with thermal analysis tools and programming languages.
- Excellent understanding of materials, thermal properties, and main approaches for thermal dissipation.
- Proficiency in FEM analysis tools (e.g., Ansys) and experience with programming languages.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
