Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Production Planning and Control Engineer to join our team at Newcastle University. As a key member of our Industrialised Construction project, you will be responsible for developing and implementing cutting-edge digital solutions to enhance production and manufacturing processes.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering, with expertise in production planning and control methods, digital technologies, and data-driven solutions. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to design and implement digital systems for capacity planning, production scheduling, and resource management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement digital solutions for improving factory processes
  • Design and implement data-driven control systems for managing production workflows
  • Deploy and manage IoT systems to capture and analyse live production data
  • Work closely with the team to disseminate and embed knowledge within Merit

Requirements

  • MSc, MEng or PhD in Mechanical/Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, Mechatronics, Civil, Automation, Construction Management, or a related discipline
  • Industrial experience of a manufacturing or work-site environment desirable
