Job Title: Employment Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Employment Specialist to join our team at Standguide. As an Employment Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with health support needs to find sustainable paid employment that aligns with their preferences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of up to 25 clients who have health support needs who are motivated to start/return to work
  • Deliver the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) approach, providing personalized guidance to clients and building relationships with referral partners and local employers
  • Source job opportunities for clients through tailored job search and regular contact with local employers
  • Provide quality service through conducting regular visits, effective monitoring, and in-work support to clients and employers
  • Develop effective working relationships with external agencies who can help individuals achieve their employment goals

Requirements:

  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent experience
  • Desirable trained in IPS approach
  • An understanding of the employment needs and challenges faced by people who experience health difficulties
  • Experience/understanding of working with people with health support needs, or a similar client group within health, social services, or the voluntary sector
  • Natural ability to build close, trusting, and productive relationships with people
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative to develop and promote a service
