Data Protection Engineer

Net Talent is excited to partner with a Managed Security Service Provider established in Scotland with a growing global footprint. Their goal is to safeguard organisations against escalating cyber threats in an increasingly complex digital world.

The company has secured Microsoft Security Partner status and holds NCSC accreditation, alongside numerous prestigious awards. Moreover, they are a people-centric organisation that acknowledges employee success as a cornerstone of their achievements.

Owing to ambitious growth plans for 2024 and beyond, they seek Data Security Engineers to collaborate with clients on managing insider risk management and data loss prevention using Microsoft Purview and related tools. This can be a home-based role anywhere in the UK.

This demands someone who comprehends Data Security implementation and management, and can provide recommendations to a diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Facilitate client onboarding to the centralised Managed Data Security Platform.
  2. Function as a subject matter expert on Microsoft Purview, focusing on Data Loss Prevention, Insider Risk Management, and Information Protection, ensuring seamless requirements delivery.
  3. Evaluate client environments, offering strategic recommendations to reduce information security risks through targeted Data Security policy implementation.
  4. Design, implement, and conduct functional testing of Data Loss Prevention and Insider Risk Management policies within client environments.
  5. Provide Continuous Improvement services for ongoing client engagement.
  6. Enhance client Data Security maturity by refining and improving Classifiers, Data Loss Prevention, and Insider Risk Management policies.
  7. Collaborate with SOC and client to manage, update, and optimise client configurations and provide advanced incident triage, investigation, and remediation for client configurations.
  8. Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for client configurations and the Managed Data Security service.
  9. Stay abreast of industry best practices and expand expertise in security and compliance.
Requirements:
  1. Proficient in communicating contemporary concepts in information classification, data leakage prevention, and risk management, specifically within Microsoft Security and Compliance services.
  2. Skilful in producing technical and architectural documentation, such as Design Documents, Operating Models, and Solution Specifications.
  3. Hands-on experience with deploying Microsoft Purview services in production, focusing on Data Loss Prevention and Insider Risk Management.
  4. In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite.
  5. Well-versed in regulatory compliance standards relevant to organisations utilising cloud services and involved in data processing (e.g., GDPR, DPA).
  6. Proactive and client-centric approach with a strong commitment to problem-solving.
