Financial Controller Specialist

This key role focuses on driving business performance by developing and agreeing short and medium-term business plans. It involves agreeing business targets for all areas of the business to meet objectives.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Forecasting Cycle Management: Oversee the budgeting process and ensure timely delivery of forecasts.
  2. Revenue Growth Strategy: Collaborate with sales teams to optimize customer relationships and pricing strategies.
  3. Compensation Planning: Recommend and agree upon bonus and commission schemes.
  4. Performance Monitoring: Regularly review sales team commission schemes and set targets on a quarterly basis.
  5. Fleet Optimization: Ensure efficient fleet management, maximizing performance and availability.
  6. Deviation Analysis: Identify and report deviations from business plans, ensuring prompt action to address them.
  7. Commercial Insights: Analyze commercial and operational reports to understand risks and opportunities.
  8. Management Information: Prepare and review weekly and monthly MI for Business Directors, including P&L and KPIs.

This role requires challenging stakeholders and recommending actions to improve performance and ensure delivery. You will also assist management with financial decisions, providing necessary analysis and MI.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • A motivated self-starter with problem-solving skills.
  • Strong business acumen to diagnose performance issues and implement improvements.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to influence senior directors.
  • Essential previous experience in financial accounting or commerce.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and challenge stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Qualified accountant (CIMA or ACCA qualified).
  • Familiarity with BI and Microsoft Office systems.

In exchange for your expertise, you can expect:

  • A competitive salary between £60,000 - £80,000 per year.
  • Company car or car allowance.
