Scientific Editor Opportunity at Redwood

We are seeking a highly skilled Scientific Editor to join our team at Redwood, a leading scientific publisher based in London. As a Scientific Editor, you will play a crucial role in the editorial process, working closely with authors, reviewers, and internal teams to ensure the highest quality of scientific content.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Copyediting of manuscripts for language and readability, with training provided in our house style.
  • Checking factual content and dealing with queries, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assessing authors' responses to edits and editorial comments, maintaining a collaborative and professional approach.
  • Involvement in the peer review process, identifying potential issues with plagiarism, animal ethics, patient consent, and figure manipulation.
  • Collaborating with the wider scientific community and internal teams to drive the publication process forward.
Requirements:
  • PhD level education in the biological sciences, with a strong foundation in scientific knowledge.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific concepts clearly.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of scientific knowledge, staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the field.
  • Strong IT skills, with proficiency in relevant software and tools.
