About the Role

Victoria College of Arts and Design seeks a highly motivated and experienced individual to take on the position of Academic Skills and Mentoring Tutor.

Key Duties:
  • Design and deliver academic programs that cater to students' diverse needs, focusing on academic literacy, digital, language, and employability skills.
  • Collaborate with academic staff and students to identify resource requirements and ensure that resources align with learning objectives.
  • Provide personalized guidance to students, helping them navigate complex course materials, assessment tasks, and content, and ultimately achieve academic success.
Essential Qualifications:
  • A relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Significant experience in teaching and supporting adult learners in HE or FE settings, with a focus on academic writing and skills development.
  • Demonstrated expertise in mentoring students in higher or further education settings, promoting academic growth and confidence.
