About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Defect Contract Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a crucial role in planning, controlling, and managing all operational and commercial activities in line with company policies and procedures. Your primary focus will be on ensuring a safe and environmentally friendly operation, while also delivering high-quality services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety Defect Service Delivery
    • Deliver the safety defect service on the Surrey Highways Contract, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Operational and Commercial Management
    • Take full responsibility for operational and commercial matters, including monitoring performance indicators and achieving targets.
  • Client Liaison
    • Liaise with senior management, client representatives, commercial teams, supervisors, and the workforce to ensure works are on budget and on schedule while meeting the highest quality standards.
  • Specialist Contractor Management
    • Identify and allocate specialist contractors and suppliers as needed, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Requirements

  • Qualifications
    • Current Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certificate.
  • Experience
    • At least 5 years of experience in a construction/civil engineering management role.
  • Skills
    • Competence with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Project, TEAMS).
  • Personal Qualities
    • Flexible and approachable attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • IOSH/NEBOSH qualification.
