About the Role

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Energy Manager to join its dedicated team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day energy management of the Trust's utilities, with a focus on utility cost, consumption, carbon reduction, and recharging the Trust's tenants.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement energy policies and energy reduction action plans
  • Oversee accurate and timely rebilling of tenants
  • Lead on energy infrastructure projects
  • Implement Energy Management System (EnMS)
  • Energy and water efficiency audits
  • Utilities procurement
  • Regulatory schemes
  • Utility reporting and budget forecasting
  • Metering strategy for data granularity
  • Engagement with staff on people-focused energy reduction initiatives

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have a degree in Engineering, Science, or Energy or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. They will also have post-graduate level knowledge, either through a relevant Masters' qualification or equivalent experience. A high level of understanding of building services and centralised plant, including CHP, boilers, HVAC, steam systems, etc., is also required.

Desirable Qualifications

Membership of relevant healthcare or engineering institutes, such as IHEEM, HEFMA, CIBSE, IET, CIOB, etc., is desirable. Chartered Engineer, Recognised EMA Energy Manager, IVMVP Certified, and Chartered Energy Manager (Energy Institute) are also desirable qualifications.
