Job Description:

Company Overview:

Barnsley Council requires a skilled Social Care Advocate to work as an Independent Reviewing Officer. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in social care and a proven track record in advocating for children's rights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the Care Plan and ensure reviews take place within statutory timescales.
  • Advocate on behalf of the child where necessary.
  • Ensure appropriate arrangements are made for the child to be informed about meetings.
  • Be responsible for the overall management of the service related to LAC and Child Protection Plans.
  • Undertake visits to children's residential homes as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

An experienced Independent Reviewing Officer/Child Protection Chair with extensive knowledge of local and national regulations, policies, and procedures. A salary of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum is offered based on experience.
