Senior Structural Engineer Contractor Specialist

Petrofac seeks a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to lead the offshore structural design of new infrastructure and modifications to existing assets in the South North Sea and Dutch sector.
About the RoleThe ideal candidate will have extensive experience in structural design, analysis, and inspection of offshore structures. They will be responsible for ensuring that all work is executed in accordance with design drawings and industry standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out engineering surveys of structural elements identified as requiring replacement or repair;
- Providing engineering sketches for reinforcement/replacement/modification of steelwork in accordance with standards;
- Reviewing and approving lift plans;
- Carrying out structural checks of structures for lifting/scaffolding/laydown proposals;
- Reporting progress to barge supervisors and participating in weekly progress meetings;
- Liaising with plant inspectors and reviewing inspection findings and carrying out integrity checks accordingly;
- Coordinating with material coordinators to order required supplies of loose materials for offshore fabrication;
- Raising site queries to ensure visibility by all team members of scope growth;
- Providing support as required for other disciplines, mechanical & piping, rigging, E&I, etc.;
- Issuing signed-off sketches/drawings to Shell DCC;
- Checking and approving calculations;
- Ensuring scopes are executed offshore in accordance with the design drawings;
- Providing technical expertise for the structural design of new infrastructure and modifications to existing infrastructure for the energy sector;
- Interfacing with other disciplines, clients, and third parties on emerging issues;
- Compliance with company engineering procedures, industry, international, and client codes and standards;
- Ensuring that all work complies with the Contract Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures as appropriate.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Brownfield project experience desirable;
- Experience within the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical Industry preferable but not essential;
- Suitable design experience within other engineering industries considered where appropriate;
- A strong understanding of structural design principles and practices;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Able to work effectively in a team environment;
- Ability to interpret and apply relevant standards and regulations;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
We offer a competitive salary range of £65,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including:
