About the Role

We are seeking an experienced procurement specialist to provide technical advisory support on waste infrastructure and environmental services projects. This is a unique opportunity to work with a strong team that has a track record of providing technical advice on waste procurement projects.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in providing technical procurement advisory services, including leading and/or supporting procurement exercises, developing tender specifications, and evaluating bidder submissions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical procurement advisory services to clients by leading, managing, and/or assisting project delivery teams;
  • Support procurement exercises, including assessing contract extension proposals, developing tender specifications, and associated documentation, and evaluating bidder submissions or working with bidders to develop and review their proposals;
  • Develop business cases to support the delivery of services differently, whether that be through a change of collection method or service management model;
  • Analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing services to identify improvements and savings for clients;
Requirements

The successful candidate will have pertinent experience of environmental and waste services or infrastructure procurement projects for local authorities, performance management framework, competitive dialogue and/or competitive procedure with negotiation procurement procedures, understanding of resources and waste legislation and policy in the UK, and a first degree in a relevant subject, preferably in the field of science, environment, or engineering.
