About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Project Sponsor to join our team at Network Rail. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to shape projects from inception to delivery, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and stakeholder expectations.

The successful candidate will direct the development and implementation of our Telecoms renewal and enhancement portfolio, setting strategies and prioritised work banks to mitigate programme delivery risk. They will also control the specification of the Telecoms portfolio of works, including design approval and stakeholder requirements for acceptance of equipment and services into asset ownership, operations, and maintenance.

We estimate the salary for this role to be around £75,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience. If you have a degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience, and are commercially astute, persuasive, and customer-focused, we'd like to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop business cases and investment papers for Telecoms project portfolios.
  • Lead periodic reviews with delivery organisations to drive accountability.
  • Implement compliance with investment regulations and other corporate governance methodologies.

Requirements
  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of dealing with client portfolios and liaising with people at all levels.
  • Proven ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
