We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Assistant to join our team at the University of Oxford.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the validation of hits from a genetic CRISPR screen on regulators of autophagy expression. This will involve ensuring records of human tissue samples received and processed are up-to-date and accurate, as well as assisting with the analysis of research results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the validation of hits from a genetic CRISPR screen on regulators of autophagy expression
- Ensure records of human tissue samples received and processed are up-to-date and accurate
- Assist with the analysis of research results
- Order items for the laboratory and ensure the laboratory is stocked and equipped
- Represent the research group at external meetings and seminars
- Contribute to project updates for funders and in writing journal articles
Requirements:
- First degree in a biomedical discipline
- Relevant laboratory experience
- Sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within our established research programmes
- Experience of sequencing or imaging of tissues
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write text that can be published, present data at conferences, and represent the research group at meetings
