Estates Project Manager
Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service is seeking an experienced Estates Project Manager to lead the delivery of capital major works projects and contribute to the management of minor and lifecycle works.
The successful candidate will hold a key role within the Estates Department, working closely with internal stakeholders, contractors, and consultants to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the Estates Capital Works Programme, aligning with NFRS strategic objectives.
- Manage project delivery from concept to handover, ensuring timely and budget-friendly outcomes.
- Prepare business cases, provide governance updates, and identify risk information, allocating risk owners and implementing risk management actions.
- Effectively manage delegated budgets, delivering projects on time and on budget.
- Provide expert advice to the Estates Department and wider organisation to ensure compliance with legal standards and acceptable quality, reliability, safety, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with the Procurement Team to prepare scoping, technical specification, and tender documents for service procurement.
- Plan and work with internal stakeholders, contractors, and consultants to ensure efficient project delivery, considering the impact of change and day-to-day operations.
- Assure works completion, including timely and effective defect remedial works, aiming for a defect-free handover.
- Review and authorise payment applications and contractor invoices upon project completion.
- Review projects to identify trends and opportunities, capturing and implementing project lessons learned.
- Contribute to the project management and delivery of Estates minor and lifecycle works projects as directed.
Requirements
- Building surveying, construction, and/or capital project management qualification and experience.
- Strong working knowledge of risk management, including H&S & CDM, compliance with applicable legislation and standards.
- Ability to engage with and manage consultants and contractors for successful project delivery.
- Experience in managing budgets and providing key financial information for effective reporting and financial management.
- Capacity to work in a high-paced environment and be dynamic in daily operations.
- Strong interpersonal and team working skills.
