Senior Medical Physicist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Physicist to lead our Medical Physics service. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with radiation safety legislation and upholding the highest standards of care for patients and staff.
Main Duties- Lead and develop our Medical Physics service, working closely with the Consultant Clinical Scientist and other key colleagues.
- Ensure adherence to radiation safety regulations and provide expert advice on radiation protection.
- Collaborate with Clinical Radiology to utilise specialist diagnostic imaging equipment across main and peripheral sites.
- Play a crucial role in shaping a robust medical physics team, appointing key roles, and fostering professional support within regional networks.

- Clinical Scientist, registered with the HCPC.
- Masters degree in Medical Physics.
- Honours degree in physics or related science - Awarded - 2nd class or higher - in Medical Physics or related science.
- Certified as a Medical Physics Expert (MPE) in Diagnostic Radiology under IR(ME)R-2017 - or eligible to apply within 1 year.
- Certified as a Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) under RPA2000 - or eligible to apply within 1 year.
