Job Title: Cloud Platform Architect

We are seeking a talented Cloud Platform Architect to join our growing team at Manchester Airport. As a key member of our IT department, you will play a vital role in architecting, implementing, and managing our group hybrid cloud platforms.

About the Role

As a Cloud Platform Architect, you will be responsible for designing and building secure, high-performance solutions that meet the business requirements of Manchester Airport. You will work collaboratively with other areas of IT Architecture, Infrastructure Operations, and Project Management to ensure that all solutions are complete, operable, and meet the business needs with the agreed quality of service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own high-level technical designs and translate high-level business requirements into technology architectures that align to strategic architecture.
  • Communicate and promote technology architecture, strategy, and governance to a wide range of stakeholders and technical communities.
  • Ensure all solutions are fit for purpose, meet the needs of business, and are both pragmatic and supportive of the strategic architecture direction.
  • Participate in the peer review and QA of project architectural artefacts.
  • Participate in the definition of enterprise architecture and infrastructure technical standards, guidelines, and their establishment within the organization.
  • Provide clear, continuous, and consistent architecture leadership to projects and programmes.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • VMware Certified Advanced Professional and AWS Certified with Solutions Architect qualifications or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Demonstrable success in owning and delivering technical designs and implementations in a similarly sized organization.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a technical subject matter expert, leading and owning the design of mid-sized projects.
  • Infrastructure subject matter expert in software-defined infrastructure, network, or cloud.
