We are seeking a highly skilled Business Finance Specialist to join our National Markets team at Markel International Services Ltd. As a Business Finance Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the National Markets division by providing financial analysis and support.
Key Responsibilities- Provide financial function support and analysis to the National Markets division.
- Conduct financial analysis to enable a better understanding of reported US GAAP results for both underwriting and services.
- Produce regular KPIs and associated analysis in an accurate and timely fashion.
- Assist the Head of Finance with commentary for Board reporting and planning analysis.
- Support the business in their planning process, including written strategic business plans and GAAP planning.
- Assist each of the National Markets regions with relevant support and data ahead of each reporting and planning cycle.
- Perform ad-hoc activities as required.
- Strong analytical mind-set and excellent Excel skills.
- Experience of working in the non-life insurance industry.
- Understanding of technical insurance accounting skills and ability to work closely with a broad range of partners.
- Desire to learn and progress in the organisation.
- Pro-active nature with ability to engage with team members of varying levels.
- Reliability and self-responsibility to respond in a timely fashion to business requests.
- Ability to work closely with other parts of Finance, including helping others as and when necessary.
