Job Summary:
NHS Ayrshire & Arran is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialty Doctor General Adult Psychiatrist to join our Community Mental Health Team based at the Ailsa Hospital, Ayr.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality clinical care to patients with mental health issues, working closely with the General Adult Consultants and other healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of mental health services in South Ayrshire, ensuring they are patient-centered and evidence-based.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the decision-making process to ensure effective care planning and delivery.
- Support and supervise junior staff, promoting a culture of learning and professional development.
- Engage with local communities, promoting mental health awareness and reducing stigma around mental illness.
Requirements:
- Full GMC Registration with a current Licence to Practice.
- Section 22 approval under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment)(Scotland) Act 2003, or ability to be applied for.
- Minimum 4 years post-graduate experience in Psychiatry.
- A full driving licence is essential for travel between inpatient and community bases.
