Contract PHP Developer

Spectrum IT Recruitment (South) Ltd is seeking a skilled Contract PHP Developer to join their development team. The ideal candidate will have experience in maintaining and enhancing software-based products, delivering innovative new developments, and overseeing programming and technical development.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain software-based products using PHP 5.0 (MVC)
  • Design and implement new features and functionality
  • Work closely with the development team to ensure smooth project delivery

Essential Technical Attributes:

  • Proficient in PHP 5.0 (MVC) and Object Oriented programming
  • Experience with Unit Tests and PHP Frameworks (e.g. Zend, Codeigniter)
  • Knowledge of administrating Apache and working in a Unix/Linux environment
  • Hands-on experience with MySQL or Microsoft SQL SERVER

Nice to Have Technical Attributes:

  • Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) and Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of Internet technologies (Java, Web Services, SOAP, AngularJS, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Ajax)
  • Relational database design and experience with GIT source control
  • Secure coding practices and experience with Jira/Stash/Confluence
