  • Risk Identification and Mitigation: Identifying, reviewing, and mitigating commercial and contractual risks to minimize potential losses.
  • Contractual Knowledge: Gaining familiarity with standard contract forms, including NEC3 and JCT, to ensure compliance and effective management.
  • Negotiation and Subcontract Management: Negotiating subcontract terms and conditions with clients and contractors and drafting subcontracts, valuing subcontractor work, and certifying interim and final payments.
  • Cash Flow Management: Enhancing cash flow through effective control, measurement, valuation, invoicing, and cash collection to ensure timely payment and minimize delays.
  • Professional Development: Receiving training and support to aid in professional development and stay up-to-date with industry best practices.
  • Reporting Line: Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager and working closely with the project team to achieve commercial objectives.
Key Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying (Degree, HNC, or NVQ preferred)
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of electrical systems and contract management principles
  • Strong IT skills, especially in MS Office, with a focus on Excel and ability to learn new software quickly
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and contractors
  • Effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • A methodical approach and proactive learning ability, with a commitment to continuous professional development
