Character Animation System Architect

At Rockstar Games, we're looking for a skilled engineer to help us develop advanced animation systems for our open-world character-based games.

This position requires a strong background in animation retargeting or related techniques, as well as excellent C++ programming skills. The successful applicant will be passionate about realistic, high-quality character motion and have a good understanding of character animation technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement new features for our animation system, including procedural animation, motion adaptation, and character motion synthesis.
  • Work closely with our animation, gameplay, physics, tools, graphics, performance capture, and technical art teams to ensure seamless integration of our animation technology.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field of computer animation and apply this knowledge to improve our technology.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Proven experience in animation retargeting, motion adaptation, or related areas.
  • Familiarity with C/C++ programming languages and strong 3D math skills.
  • Good knowledge of character animation technology, particularly retargeting and IK systems.
