About the Job

We are seeking an exceptional Stroke Consultant Physician to join our dedicated team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our stroke service, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and developing innovative care pathways to enhance patient outcomes.

The successful candidate will have significant experience in acute stroke medicine and a strong track record of clinical excellence. You will work closely with our medical directors, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement best practice guidelines and protocols that drive quality and safety.

As a Stroke Consultant Physician, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our stroke service and contribute to the development of cutting-edge care models. You will also have opportunities to participate in research, education, and quality improvement initiatives, driving excellence in patient care and contributing to the growth and development of our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality patient care, prioritising patient needs and preferences
  • Develop and implement best practice guidelines and protocols, ensuring seamless integration with existing care pathways
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative care models and service improvements
  • Participate in research, education, and quality improvement initiatives, contributing to evidence-based practice and policy development
  • Mentor and support junior doctors and nurses in their professional development

Requirements:

  • Consultant-level experience in acute stroke medicine
  • Strong clinical expertise, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care and promoting clinical excellence
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with senior clinicians, nurses, and other stakeholders
  • Ability to think critically and strategically, with a focus on improving patient care and outcomes
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities
