Shift Pattern: 1 shift on, 2 shifts off (Shifts start at 10am, finishing at 11pm followed by a sleep in after every shift. Shifts will resume at 7:30am finishing at 10:30am)
Hexagon Care Services is a leading provider of residential childcare, with over 50 children's homes, 5 crisis intervention services, and 14 schools across England. We are seeking a Residential Support Worker to join our team at our children's home in Ferrybridge.
This is a great opportunity for someone to work with a highly experienced and skilled team of individuals who share a passion for giving children in care the best possible support. As a Residential Support Worker, you will have a varied role, including cooking and cleaning, participating in activities and games, taking young people to appointments, managing challenging behaviors, and providing emotional support.
We aim to create a positive and relaxed home environment where young people feel safe, supported, and listened to. You will be inducted by our award-winning learning and development team and guided in your role by more senior staff members, including psychologists and therapy team members.
Experience working in a residential home for children is advantageous, but not essential. This role requires shift work, including sleep ins, and a rolling rota that covers evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safeguard, motivate, and inspire young people in your care
- Lead, demonstrate, and share best practice with other practitioners
- Handle challenging behavior effectively and professionally
- Work a shift pattern including weekends, evenings, and sleep ins
