Job Description

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer - Wing to lead and deliver the structural design of wing components, ensuring compliance with program airworthiness, product requirements, and design quality assurance criteria.

Key Responsibilities

  • Structural Design: Ensure that the structural design meets program airworthiness and product requirements, adhering to cascaded Design Quality Assurance Criteria.
  • Define, Deliver, and Enable Technical Studies: Define, deliver, and enable technical studies, trades, and investigations utilizing relevant Design methods and procedures to deliver technical solutions.
  • Change Management: Support identification, management, and delivery of change through Mod opening, DFM release, and Stage 3 Closure of Mods, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality change implementation.
  • Design Leadership: Provide design leadership to internal and external designers within the team, owning Lean Engineering improvements, focusing on 'Right First Time' and Lead Time Reduction.
  • Design Reviews: Ensure effective organization and governance of design & maturity reviews, adhering to Airbus policies, processes, and practices.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of leading design or project teams, complex or multi-value projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve delivery to Time, Cost, and Quality.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to find creative solutions.
  • Experience in risk management and taking calculated risks.
  • Ability to make or influence decisions in a complex network of stakeholders and customers.
  • Proven ability to integrate with and influence technical experts and specialists.
  • Strong track record of maturing new technologies, implementing Design to cost projects, and initiating strategic technology projects.
  • Knowledge and experience of design toolsets, including CATIA V5, ICC, Zamiz, ECM, Solings, and PASS.
  • Design Authorisation Signatory is essential.

Additional Qualifications (Preferred)

  • Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in a regulated industry, such as aerospace or automotive.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
