Job Title: Maintenance Engineer Apprentice

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer Apprentice to join our team at The Sterling Choice. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and improve plant and equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency
  • Perform day-to-day maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and minimize downtime
  • Ensure compliance with safety and food standards to protect our employees and customers
  • Complete planned maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failure and extend lifespan
  • Diagnose and repair faults in a timely and efficient manner
  • Champion health and safety practices and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
  • Provide technical support and expedite parts as needed to minimize downtime
Requirements:
  • Experience in multi-skilled engineering in a fast-paced environment
  • Mechanical and electrical engineering skills, with a strong understanding of machinery, conveyers, pumps, valves, and electrical fault finding
  • HNC or equivalent qualification, with a strong focus on maintenance and repair
  • Knowledge of FMCG environments is a plus, but not essential
  • Strong problem-solving and maintenance skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction
