Consultant Psychiatrist in General Adult Psychiatry

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Home Treatment Team at Harrow Mental Health Centre, Northwick Park Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and delivering high-quality care to patients with acute, severe, and enduring mental illness.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership for the Home Treatment Team, ensuring best practice is employed and quality and productivity targets are met.
- Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation projects, working in partnership with the modern matron.
- Provide overall clinical leadership for the ward multidisciplinary team, including direct clinical assessments, consultations, risk assessments, and care plans.
- Participate in and lead quality improvement projects and clinical audits, contributing to the continuous development of the Home Treatment Team and other parts of the service as required.
- Senior medical responsibility for the care carried out by the Home Treatment Team, including involvement in joint planning of future service developments and close liaison with acute wards to facilitate discharge planning.
- Full Registration with the GMC and inclusion on the Specialist Register (or CCT expected within 6 months of interview date).
- Completed minimum of one year's full-time training in an approved psychiatric training scheme.
- Experience of managing patients with acute, severe, and enduring mental illness in a community setting.
- Thorough knowledge of mental health conditions, experience in risk assessment and management in clinical settings, and knowledge of CPA, MCA, MHA, and relevant issues.
Harrow Home Treatment Team is a multidisciplinary and community-based service that aims to provide a safe and effective home-based assessment and treatment service as an alternative to inpatient and Emergency Department care. We work in conjunction with and are integrated with other local service elements, providing a comprehensive range of services to patients with acute, severe, and enduring mental illness.
We are committed to embedding Open Dialogue and a Trauma-Informed Approach across our mental health services, and all adult staff receive training and supervision in this approach. Our plan is to rollout both Open Dialogue and Trauma-Informed Approach for our older adult services.
