About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join our Assessment, Kinship and Support Team at North Somerset Council. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a passionate team who are committed to delivering high-quality services to children and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of Kinship Foster Carers, including Viability Assessments and full assessments, to ensure the best possible outcomes for children.
- Provide specialized support to Special Guardians, including guidance on their roles and responsibilities.
- Supervise new Kinship Foster Carers prior to their transfer to the Fostering team, ensuring a smooth transition and high-quality care.
- Assess prospective Foster Carers (Form F assessments) to determine their suitability for fostering.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a qualified Social Worker with a Social Work England registration and have a sound knowledge of relevant childcare legislation, including Working Together to Safeguard Children. You must also have the ability to build effective relationships with children, young people, and families.
