Job Description

The Academics are seeking a skilled Teaching Assistant to support the educational journey of students with moderate learning and behavioral needs in a trauma-informed secondary school setting.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of psychology and a passion for supporting students with diverse needs. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the teaching team to implement effective communication techniques and provide individualized support to students.

The school provides a unique and supportive environment, with a focus on preparing students for GCSE subjects and building a curriculum that meets their individual needs. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a range of therapists, including SALTs, Occupational therapists, psychologists, and counsellors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with moderate learning and behavioral needs in a trauma-informed secondary school setting
  • Implementing effective communication techniques and providing individualized support to students
  • Working closely with the teaching team to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Providing general support to students and staff as needed

Requirements:

  • Psychology degree or specialist SEN training
  • Experience working with students with diverse needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
