JHE & Partners is delighted to be working exclusively with a local manufacturer in Keighley, who are looking for an assistant accountant on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong accounting experience looking for a challenging and rewarding role, with a solid progression plan to become finance manager.
Main Responsibilities- Monthly Management Reporting: Oversee the processing of all transactional work for the finance function, up to trial balance and preparing accounts for review by the finance director.
- Staff Payroll and Pensions: Process staff payroll and staff pensions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Monthly Management Accounts: Process monthly management accounts, including VAT returns and all year-end activities.
- Intercompany Balances and Reconciliations: Manage intercompany balances and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Sales and Purchase Ledger: Maintain accurate sales and purchase ledger records.
- Bank Account Reconciliations: Reconcile multiple bank accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Month-End Tasks and Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Complete month-end tasks and balance sheet reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner.
- Communication and Liaison: Liaise with external accountants and communicate all relevant information with each department and answer and respond to all external queries in a timely manner.
- Prepayments and Accruals: Manage prepayments and accruals to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Petty Cash Management: Manage petty cash to ensure accuracy and compliance.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven individual to stamp their mark, having autonomy to make changes and streamline processes for the good of the business. You will be supported by a highly knowledgeable and experienced finance director, who is happy to give additional duties should you wish to progress.
Salary is £35,000 with 20 days holiday plus 8 stats. The company operates on a 4-day working week from Monday to Thursday with Fridays off, offering a great work-life balance.
