About the Role

We are seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to join our team at a specialist primary school in North Birmingham.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled educator to work with diverse student needs in a supportive and collaborative environment.

The successful candidate will have experience in Key Stage 1 & 2, although teachers from secondary backgrounds who are eager to transition into primary SEN are also welcome.

This role provides an ideal setting to support and empower students with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC).

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high-quality, individualized lessons for SEN students, tailored to their unique needs.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Utilize creative and adaptive teaching strategies to engage students with varied learning needs.
  • Support students' social and emotional development, fostering positive behavior and communication skills.
  • Maintain close communication with parents and caregivers, updating them on progress and involving them in the education process.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  • Demonstrated experience working with SEN students, particularly those with ASC.
  • A compassionate, positive, and resilient approach to supporting students with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a commitment to working with staff and external specialists.
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
