Despatch Operative Job Description

Contract Personnel Thetford is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Despatch Operative to join their team on a temporary ongoing basis, with the potential for a permanent position.

We are looking for an individual with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude, who can work independently and as part of a team to ensure maximum productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collate, pick, pack, and label customer orders based on packing sheets.
  • Pack items for stock as requested.
  • Pick and pack aluminium for powder coating.
  • Report any quality issues to a senior team member.

Requirements:

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous packing experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable working to targets and deadlines.
  • Ability to take responsibility for assigned tasks.
  • Basic IT knowledge, as you'll be required to print off labels and complete internal training.
  • Own transport is required due to rural location.
  • Ideally, a full UK driving license for occasional collections and deliveries.
  • Eagerness to learn, develop, and contribute to the company objectives by undertaking additional tasks.
  • Physically fit as this role involves heavy lifting.

Working Environment:

The successful candidate will be working in a fast-paced warehouse environment, with a focus on meeting deadlines and ensuring high-quality work.
