Programme Management Placement

Join our team at Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains and take on the challenge of a Programme Management Placement. This 12-month scheme offers a unique opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

As a Programme Management Placement student, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of approved Power Unit hardware, working closely with the Performance Development and Application groups to plan, implement and deliver testing programmes. You will also have the opportunity to gain experience in the following sub-areas of Programme Management:

  • V6 Product; work within the ICE & Turbo 'Production' group to deliver the full life-cycle of production engines, from Performance Demonstrators and Reliability Prove-out Power Units (PU's), all the way through to Track Test and Race PU's.

Our Programme Management Placement Students will work in a state-of-the-art Technology centre, being involved in exciting technological challenges alongside some of the industry's best engineers. You'll gain exposure to the breadth of Programme Management with the opportunity to fast track yourself onto the Graduate Scheme should you perform to an excellent standard during your placement year.

What do we need from you?
  • A degree or above in a relevant Engineering, Science or Technology subject
  • A strong academic background in relevant A Level disciplines, for example business studies, economics, maths or sciences, (or equivalent qualification)
  • Demonstrate exceptional levels of organisation, with the ability to manage periods of high work load, using calm and efficient prioritisation techniques
  • The desire and enthusiasm to consistently deliver innovative solutions, as no problem or challenge is ever the same at HPP
  • The courage to challenge, backed by a methodical, professional and conscientious approach
  • The ability to work using your own initiative and take accountability
  • A confident and natural communication style that is adaptable to your audience
  • A relentless desire to win, willing to go the extra mile to help the team succeed
