We invite applications for a PhD scholarship in Materialities, focusing on the analysis of excavated materials from southern Mozambique. As part of the Entangled project, you will contribute to assessing the development of maritime economies in the region.

You will work closely with the PI of the project (Dr Abigail Moffett, University of Cambridge) and Professor Paul Lane (University of Cambridge). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop expertise in a range of materials-based analytical techniques.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze excavated materials from southern Mozambique.
  • Develop linguistic skills in Portuguese or Xitswa.
  • Contribute to the development of maritime economies research.
