About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Quantitative Analyst to join our team in London. As a key member of our gas trading division, you will work closely with traders and risk managers to develop and implement models that drive decision-making in gas trading.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain quantitative models to support gas trading strategies, including price forecasting, risk management, and market analysis.
  • Analyze historical and real-time market data to identify trading opportunities and optimize portfolio performance.
  • Collaborate with gas traders and risk managers to adjust strategies based on market dynamics and pricing trends.
  • Apply statistical methods, machine learning techniques, and time-series analysis to enhance gas price prediction models.
  • Conduct back-testing, model validation, and performance analysis to ensure robust model accuracy.
  • Stay informed on European gas market fundamentals, regulations, and geopolitical factors that impact market behavior.
  • Work closely with data engineers and IT teams to ensure seamless integration of models into trading systems and platforms.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Strong experience in quantitative modeling, with a focus on energy trading, preferably in gas markets.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, or MATLAB, and experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Solid understanding of European gas market fundamentals, supply-demand dynamics, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Knowledge of trading systems and real-time data platforms (e.g., Reuters, Bloomberg).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced trading environment.

Salary: The estimated salary for this role is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
